Selected to Provide Electronic Filing Services for Cameron County,
PA

12, 2000 (Paoli, PA) - Verilaw Technologies, Inc. is pleased
to announce that it has been selected to design, implement,
and maintain an electronic filing system for Cameron County,
Pennsylvania.
The
project will begin with a pilot program that will allow for
electronic filing of documents in Cameron County divorce cases.
Cameron County has more divorce filings than any other county
in Pennsylvania. For a variety of reasons, parties from all
over the state elect to process their divorce actions in Cameron
County. Electronic filing is particularly appealing in Cameron
County divorce cases in part because it will eliminate many
of the difficulties associated with taking filings from across
the state.
The
project is among the first of its kind in the country. "Needless
to say, we're very excited about our Cameron County initiative,"
said Joseph H. Helfrich, Verilaw's Vice President for Court
Relations. "One of the nice things about electronic filing
is that it eliminates geographic considerations. Soon, lawyers
in Pennsylvania will be able to file divorce actions in Cameron
County easily and instantaneously no matter where their offices
are."
The
project is currently in the planning stages. Cameron County
and Verilaw expect electronic filing functionality to become
available within the next several months.
