Mr. Helfrich
was formerly associated with the Philadelphia litigation firm
of Conrad, O'Brien, Gellman & Rohn, where he practiced
antitrust, intellectual property, product liability and medical
malpractice law. Before joining Conrad O'Brien, Mr. Helfrich
worked for the law firm of Gaston & Snow in New York,
and for IBM. Mr. Helfrich also worked for the U.S. Department
of Justice, Office of Policy Development, where he lobbied
Congress on behalf of the Attorney General's Office in areas
relating to federal court administration and jurisdiction
matters. Mr. Helfrich previously served as a judicial intern
for The Honorable John Garrett Penn, Chief Judge (now Senior
Judge) for the United States District Court for the District
of Columbia.
Mr. Helfrich
has also held management positions with a number of leading
businesses, including Alternative Legal, Inc., an innovative
business he founded in 1994 to provide legal research and
other attorney work product to Fortune 500 corporations on
a collaborative outsourced basis.
Mr. Helfrich
received his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Richmond
and his J.D. from George Washington University.
